Why is Feminine empowerment important?

To live in a world of patriarchal systems and ways of achieving which are anchored in busyness and stress, women have had to sacrifice their innate feminine qualities. The very qualities  that support women in feeling whole, connected, grounded, safe and embodied have been forgotten. Now we crave them more than ever!

The female nervous system needs empowering

Our understanding of the autonomic nervous system has far surpassed the simple fight/flight modes we once learnt in biological text books. We now understand there are multiple different nervous system default modes, that often develop as survival mechanisms in early childhood.

For women, who are biologically programmed to be nurturing, caring, and incredibly intuitive to others needs, our nervous system tends toward either a friend state  (please/ appease/tend/befriend state) or a freeze state.  We chose to avoid confrontation, we put ourselves last for the sake of children or others. We may not feel comfortable to speak up with our voice, and have lost the ability to connect to the power within ourselves. In many cases, this programming began as children where we were taught to be well behaved, agreeable and quiet.  Or, perhaps there were expectations placed on us that deep down drew us even further away from our creative desires.

Perhaps there was trauma where the friend/ freeze nervous system response served a survival mechanism when unable to flee or fight challenging situations.

When this state becomes our standard way of living, women begin to grieve for a loss of self, for freedom of expression and for the opportunities that pass them by.

Perhaps there's a sense of feeling trapped, which then turns to rage. Not a healthy kind of rage that allows women to express themselves. The rage becomes all consuming, blinding, confusing and sometimes scary. Sometimes not even being sure what the rage is, and yet it bubbles over with loved ones stealing joy and happiness from otherwise sacred moments.

Trauma therapies play a significant role in completing trauma cycles held within the nervous system, however they do little to empower women in resourcing their nervous systems to find their strength, their fight, their passion, and their voice.

As a result, women continue to feel empty, depleted and disconnected.

The trauma cycle may be completed, but a sense of longing and disconnect lingers.

FINDING HER helps to fill this gap.  Finding Her provides practices that ignite elements of the fight response in the nervous system through gentle titration that feels safe and manageable.

FINDING HER provides somatic resources for women to not only stabilise the nervous system, but activate it in a safe way when appropriate. Through this nervous system stimulation you will start to feel the fire within your belly- passions will be reignited, you will find yourself speaking up for your needs, whilst feeling grounded and stable as you do so.

You will feel like the Heroine of your own life's journey.
